Frequently asked questions.

  • Therapy, also known as counseling or psychotherapy, is a process in which you work with a trained mental health professional to explore and address emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. The goal of therapy is to help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and improve your overall well-being. Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can discuss your thoughts and feelings, work through challenges, and achieve personal growth.

  • You might consider therapy if you’re experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges. Therapy can help you gain clarity, learn coping mechanisms, and make meaningful changes in your life. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy—it can also help with personal development, self-exploration, and improving overall mental health.

  • Emotional Relief: Therapy helps you process difficult emotions, reduce anxiety, and manage depression.

Improved Coping Skills: You’ll learn strategies to handle stress, conflicts, and negative thoughts more effectively.

Self-Awareness: Therapy allows you to explore your thoughts, behaviors, and patterns, helping you understand yourself better.

Healthier Relationships: By improving communication and emotional regulation, therapy can enhance your relationships with others.

Increased Resilience: Therapy equips you with tools to manage challenges and setbacks in a healthier, more balanced way.

  • Mentally, therapy helps by reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. It teaches you how to regulate your emotions, change negative thinking patterns, and build self-confidence. Physically, therapy can reduce the impact of stress on the body, such as headaches, muscle tension, or sleep disturbances. By improving your mental health, therapy can lead to better overall physical health, as a calm mind often translates to a healthier body. Studies also show that therapy can help lower stress-related symptoms like high blood pressure or digestive issues.

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults. It’s characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that can interfere with daily functioning in various settings such as school, work, and relationships. ADHD is often diagnosed in childhood, but many individuals may not receive a diagnosis until adulthood. It can present differently in each person, with some primarily struggling with inattention, others with hyperactivity, or a combination of both.

  • works and provides strategies to work with your strengths while managing areas of difficulty. Therapy can help improve time management, organization, and emotional regulation. For adults, therapy can address the impact ADHD has on careers, relationships, and daily responsibilities, helping to reduce frustration and build confidence.

  • Therapy provides:

Personalized Strategies: Practical techniques for organizing tasks, staying focused, and managing distractions.

Emotional Support: Help in managing the frustration, stress, or anxiety that often accompany ADHD symptoms.

Improved Relationships: Therapy helps build better communication and understanding, which is often crucial in relationships where ADHD is a factor.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This evidence-based approach helps you manage impulsivity, shift negative thinking patterns, and develop healthier habits.

  • Therapy helps by improving mental clarity and reducing the overwhelming nature of tasks, which can lead to mental burnout. When ADHD is managed, the anxiety, stress, and mental fatigue that often come with it can diminish. Additionally, addressing ADHD through therapy can lead to improved sleep, better stress management, and reduced physical symptoms like restlessness or tension. Improved mental focus can also positively impact physical routines, making it easier to stick with exercise or healthy lifestyle habits.

  • Anxiety is a natural response to stress or perceived danger, but when it becomes chronic, overwhelming, or out of proportion to the situation, it can be classified as an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders include a range of conditions like Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and specific phobias. Symptoms can vary but often include excessive worry, nervousness, fear, and physical symptoms like a racing heart or tension. When anxiety interferes with daily life, relationships, or work, it may be time to seek help.

  • Therapy is an effective way to address the root causes of anxiety and provide you with tools to manage it. You should consider therapy if:

    • Your anxiety is affecting your ability to function or enjoy life.

    • You find it difficult to control your worries or fears.

    • Physical symptoms of anxiety (like headaches, fatigue, or muscle tension) are interfering with your well-being.

    • Anxiety is preventing you from engaging in daily activities, social situations, or pursuing your goals.

Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore these feelings, identify triggers, and develop practical strategies for managing anxiety in a healthy way.escription text goes here

  • Therapy offers several key benefits for managing anxiety:

Improved Emotional Regulation: Therapy helps you learn how to manage anxious thoughts and emotions more effectively, reducing feelings of overwhelm.

Coping Skills: You’ll gain practical tools and techniques, like breathing exercises, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral strategies, to help calm your mind when anxiety strikes.

Identifying Triggers: Therapy helps you identify what triggers your anxiety, so you can take proactive steps to prevent or reduce it.

Building Resilience: Over time, therapy helps you build resilience to face stressful or anxiety-inducing situations with more confidence and less fear.

Reduced Physical Symptoms: Many people experience relief from anxiety-related physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, digestive issues, or muscle tension after working through therapy.

  • Anxiety often manifests both mentally and physically. Mentally, it can cause racing thoughts, excessive worry, and difficulty focusing. Physically, it can lead to symptoms like headaches, a rapid heartbeat, insomnia, or digestive problems. Therapy addresses both:

Mental Benefits: Therapy helps you manage and reframe negative thoughts, reducing the mental toll of anxiety. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is particularly effective in helping you identify and change anxious thinking patterns.

Physical Benefits: Anxiety-related physical symptoms often subside when your mental state improves. Techniques like progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, and mindfulness are commonly used in therapy to reduce tension, lower heart rate, and help you feel more physically at ease.

By addressing both the mental and physical impacts of anxiety, therapy can provide long-lasting relief and help you regain control of your life.

  • I’m in the process of launching Snowpeak Performance, a coaching business that offers a completely different approach than traditional therapy. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on processing and understanding the past, Snowpeak Performance is goal-oriented and centers on helping clients move forward in their personal or professional lives. The focus is on future growth, actionable steps, and achieving specific outcomes.

This coaching service will be run as a separate business to avoid any confusion between therapy and coaching roles. If a client completes their therapy and feels ready to transition into coaching, they are welcome to do so. However, due to ethical considerations and to avoid conflicts of interest or dual relationships, a client who moves from therapy to coaching will not be able to return to therapy with me. Stay tuned for more information.

  • I love the creativity involved in planning theme parties. There’s something so fulfilling about bringing a vision to life and adding personal touches that make an event feel truly special. Photography is another passion of mine—it allows me to capture moments and memories, especially since my short-term memory often lets details slip away.

Disney movies have always been a source of joy and inspiration for me. They offer a sense of innocence and positivity that’s refreshing in a world filled with negativity. Spending time outdoors provides a similar escape—nature helps me slow down and reconnect, offering a break from the constant rush of life. Watching 3D movies with my family is another way I stay grounded. It forces me to put aside multitasking and just be present, reminding me of the importance of focusing on the moment and the people I’m with.

These moments, whether creative or grounding, allow me to stay balanced and present, something I always aim to bring into my life and work
